The short version: this website doesn't track you. We don't run analytics, we don't set cookies, and we don't sell or share data. The full version (including what our hosting provider may log and your rights under Australian privacy law) is below.
This privacy policy is published by PezPC (ABN 97 574 733 612), a Hobart-based ICT consultancy. It applies to the websites at pezpc.com.au and pez.au (which point to the same host).
It does not cover separate consulting engagements, support contracts, or test & tag work; those are governed by the agreements signed for each engagement.
The PezPC website does not directly collect, store, or transmit any personal information about you. Specifically, this site:
The page is built from plain HTML, CSS, and a small amount of JavaScript that runs only in your browser. You can confirm this yourself by viewing the page source.
While we don't collect anything ourselves, the technical reality is that loading any website causes your browser to make requests to the server hosting it. For sites that load external assets, your browser also makes requests to those external servers. The third parties below are involved when you load pezpc.com.au / pez.au:
The site is hosted on GoDaddy's Web Hosting Deluxe (cPanel) service. As the host, GoDaddy receives and may log standard web-server request data (including IP address, timestamp, requested URL, HTTP method, response code, and user-agent string) in the ordinary course of operating the server. We do not control what GoDaddy collects or how long they retain it; that is governed by GoDaddy's own privacy policy.
The site loads two web fonts (Inter, Space Grotesk) from
fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com. As a result,
Google receives a standard HTTP request from your browser when you load a page.
See
Google's privacy policy
for what they do with that data.
Bootstrap CSS/JS and Bootstrap Icons are loaded from
cdn.jsdelivr.net. The CDN operator receives standard HTTP request
data from your browser when those files are fetched. See the
jsDelivr privacy policy
for details.
These third parties are involved purely so the page can render correctly. We do not send them any information about you that your browser wouldn't already send when making the request.
If you send us an email (e.g. via the contact details on the home page), we will receive and retain whatever you choose to include in that message: typically your name, email address, and the contents of the enquiry. We use that information only to respond to you and to follow up where appropriate. We do not add you to any marketing list. We do not send unsolicited commercial email, in accordance with the Spam Act 2003 (Cth).
We do not sell, rent, trade, or otherwise share any information about you with third parties for their own purposes. Any data we hold (including server logs received from our hosting provider and email correspondence) will only be disclosed outside PezPC where we are legally required to do so, including:
PezPC is an Australian small business. Under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), most small businesses with an annual turnover of $3 million or less are not bound by the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). Regardless of whether the small-business exemption applies to us at any given time, we commit to handling personal information in line with the spirit of the APPs.
In practical terms, that means:
Even though this site collects nothing directly, if we ever became aware of a data breach affecting personal information we hold (whether through our own systems, our hosting provider, or a third party we work with), we will assess it and, where it meets the threshold of an eligible data breach, comply with the Notifiable Data Breaches (NDB) scheme under Part IIIC of the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). That includes notifying affected individuals and the OAIC.
We may update this policy from time to time, for example if we add a contact form, introduce analytics, or change hosting providers. The Last updated date at the top of this page reflects the current version.
Access requests, corrections, deletion requests, complaints: same address as everything else. We aim to acknowledge privacy enquiries within five business days.
